Beating the Odds

Inventing the Telephone

Today is the birthday of Alexander Graham Bell. He never set out to invent the telephone. His mom and wife were deaf, so Bell was more concerned with devices that could help those who were hearing-impaired.

The result was the telephone, a device that changed the world in ways that neither he nor those around him could ever have imagined. None of it would have ever happened without action on Bell’s part.

His invention is a monument to the thought that once you set out on a path, you never know where the journey will take you. If you never set out on a path, you know where the journey will go — nowhere.

Find your passion today. Do something. Take some action. Get on the path. It may take you to greatness.
