Win More: Identify a Weakness

If you’re not as successful as you would like to be, chances are that there’s just one thing holding you back.

I don’t know what it is. But you do.

Maybe it’s laziness, or an addiction, or poor time management skills. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that there are many things holding you back. All of these factors probably stem from one key flaw.

Whatever the flaw, if you can identify it and do something about it, your chances of success will go up in a hurry.

I call this finding your orange — because eating an orange a day helped my father-in-law regain his health after a heart attack. This let him go back to his job, which was helping build the navigation system for the first lunar lander!

To see how an orange works, look at this great article about Paul O’Neill, an Alcoa CEO who doubled profits in a decade by focusing on just one value.

He clearly picked the right one. If you can do the same, and keep your focus on it, you will have more success.
