Giving Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving!

Trouble is, when it comes to thanks, too many of us set aside only one day of the year. How about feeling and expressing gratitude on the other 364 days?

“Attitudes of Gratitude” by M.J. Ryan explores the whole sense of being grateful from several angles. It begins with this poem by Lao Tzu:

If you look to others for fulfillment,
you will never truly be fulfilled.
If your happiness depends on money,
you will never be happy with yourself.
Be content with what you have:
Rejoice in the way things are.
When you realize there is nothing lacking,
the whole world belong to you.

This, of course, does not mean that people should stop striving. In fact, you have the blueprint for a beautiful life if you can pursue great dreams while still feeling genuine appreciation for what you have.

And here’s a thought from team-building coach Gary Pritchard:
“ Happy” Thanksgiving ?

When you’re together with family and friends… Remember…
“Happiness is not from the outside-in, it’s from the inside-out.”
And it’s a choice…for you…and for them.

A Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
